Of a new semester, new job, and new year!

Saturday, January 21, 2012
2 more days to go and my last semester as an undergraduate student here in UW Madison will kick out. Unlike the beginning of any past semesters, I kinda have mix feeling to start this one; excited about graduating soon as well as the heavy feeling knowing that this sem is gonna be my last. Also, that means I have couples of months to enjoy life in Madison and U.S before departing to Malaysia for good.

And tomorrow, Insya Allah if time allows, I will send a senior student off to the airport. She just graduated this winter, and soon-to-be a chemical engineer. I pray for her success in her next journey of life. And without a slight doubt I believe she will do good.

And since my west coast trip (which I will write about it later), I spent my 3 weeks preparing for my actuarial exam in which i will sit this February. You see sometimes it's kinda demanding to be an actuary. Yes, you have to study over the break while knowing your friends are still enjoying their holidays.

And what I hate about the exam is the difficulty level (Yeah I know what kinda of exam if it was not hard) but actuary exam is not something for fainted people. Just so you know this is the second time I sit for the paper. Actually I am kinda frantic and terrified even though in my full consciousnesses I  know I had done the best preparation.

But that's what happened the first time I sit the paper and immediately knew I did not pass it (the exam is computer based test so you know your result right after the exam ends). You know at that time I had this sinking feeling, really sank to the bottom of pit. Being someone who always achieve whatever he aims for, not passing the exam is really a down moment. Sometimes, I wish I was born genius so passing all the papers wont be a big hurdle.

Enough about actuary exam. Today, I did my job training. At first, it was overwhelming but at the end I found it quite fun. Also, I have team of colleagues (all are students like me) who are helpful and awesome! The job that I will be doing is preparing panini wrap (German styled sandwich), doing dishes and general cleaning. For 15 hours a week, I think it's job that I can handle well and I am looking forward to begin (This is the first time I hold job during school semester). I am taking this job for I think I need some extra money to be brought home to Malaysia as well as for the memorable experience I want to cherish during this last semester.

I think I will stop here. I am really sorry, if I had postponed so many entries that I planned to do before for I am truly such a good procrastinator. I guess it's in my genes so I found it a habit that's hard to change. *sigh*

Finally, I hope it's not too late to wish "Happy New Year" . May this year 2012 will bring more happiness and success to everyone! :)
